Hair for Hero’s

Our Signature event, Hair-for-Hero’s takes place each spring at a Halifax venue. Participants raise funds by shaving their heads to show soldiery for the kids who lose their hair from chemotherapy treatment. Our first annual event in 2005 raised over $30,000. You can help by sponsoring a participant, becoming a participant or making an online donation from our website.

Relay for Life Team

Each year the Daniel McLellan Memorial Fund enters a team in the Canadian Cancer Societies “Relay for Life”. This 12 hour event is a celebration of survival and a tribute to the lives of loved ones who have been touched by cancer. The Daniel Mclellan Memorial Fund donates $1000 per year which goes to research and children’s cancer camps.

An Event of Your Own

The Daniel McLellan Memorial Fund welcomes the initiative, energy and commitment of organizations or individuals who want to hold an event to raise funds to help local families.
The Fund will help with the event in any way possible, whether it's receipting donations, providing volunteers, advertising, or providing promotional material.
Whether you choose to hold a Hair for Hero’s event, organize a golf tournament, car wash, bake sale, or do something entirely different, your participation will help us help our kids and their families, and support the fund.
